Muri was an elderly villager from a Namekian community where Dende resided. During his interrogation by Freeza's group, he managed to destroy all of their scouters, delaying their collection of Dragon Balls. Despite being killed shortly after, Muri was later revived using Dragon Balls and named the new grand elder. This granted him the power to restore the lives of the Dragon Balls. After traveling to New Namek, he enhanced Porunga's abilities, enabling her to resurrect multiple individuals with a single wish.
