Gyokuran was an object of desire for both Mokuren and Shion, but Enju, who possessed telepathic abilities, developed a deep affection for Gyokuran despite her inability to compete with Mokuren's affections. Despite this, she never harbored any ill will towards Mokuren or allowed herself to become bitter. Later on, after Shion and Mokuren became engaged, Enju found herself drawn to the pairing of Gyokuran and Shion. However, Gyokuran's love for Mokuren remained unwavering, and she believed that Shion had forced her into the engagement in order to pursue his own desires. Consequently, even after they became romantically involved, Enju's feelings were never reciprocated by Gyokuran. Shusuran was a loyal friend who supported Enju throughout her struggles to win Gyokurans affections. Ultimately, Enju was the fourth person to pass away in the story.
