Ericas rival is Liliana, who belongs to the Bronze Black Cross, an organization based in Milan. She holds the rank of Great Knight and wields her sword Il Maestro with skill comparable to Erica's. However, her true strength lies in Witchcraft. Liliana has a fairy-like appearance and is highly dedicated. After meeting Godou, she pledges to serve him for eternity as a knight. In addition to being an accomplished swordsman, Liliana enjoys writing romance novels secretly. Erica knows about these novels and frequently blackmails her with them. Liliana was part of the Bronze Black Cross, a magical association descended from the Knights Templar. She grew up as friends with Ericas and both earned their knighthood at age twelve after meeting at two years old. After becoming knights, they traveled to the Saint Gilardino Monastery in Florence, Italy, where they encountered Salvatore Doni just after he had become a Campione. During this journey, they also met Saint Raffaello, the only knight to receive two swords from the monastery and one of Donis teachers.
