In the narrative, Yukari is portrayed as the protagonist of the story, a high school student who feels trapped in a monotonous existence due to her strict mother's expectations. Eventually, she becomes involved with Paradise Kiss after being "abducted" by Isabella and transported to their atelier. Throughout the series, Yukari is referred to as Caroline by Miwako, despite having no explanation for this name change. Initially, Yukari appears to be an attractive yet uninteresting high school senior who diligently prepares for university entrance exams. However, her encounter with the ParaKiss crew leads her to explore new facets of herself and her life.
