The captain of the Glomar is also the head supervisor in charge of marketing for the ship's business, as well as the Chief Operator of its controls. Upon discovering Kei as an Idiosynchratic Point by Jabby, she was given orders to deliver him to the Emaan homeland immediately. Shaya follows the customs and culture of her homeland faithfully, including bathing and dressing in front of men without any shame, which makes Kei feel uncomfortable when they are together due to the biological nature of Emaans. At age 18, Emaan women lose their fertility and are no longer courted by Emaan men, making them considered "females" no more. Her family, along with Mimsys's family, runs the Emaan country.
