Naruto Uzumaki's mother, Kushina Uzumaki, was a ninja from the former Land of the Whirlpool who had a son named Naruto. She is described as having long red hair and violet eyes, with a tomboyish personality that evolved into beauty over time. Despite her son's resemblance to his father, he inherited many traits from his mother, including his choice of ninjutsu. Although she was presumed dead in the past tense, Kushina is shown speaking with Jiraiya and Minato Namikaze in a manga scene where Jiraiya lies on the ground while having flashbacks about their time together.
