The little whirlwind was first encountered as a traveler who collapsed due to the summer heat near shuurei's house entrance. she took him in and invited him for food. upon seiran's return home, ensei recognized him and called him by that name, suggesting they have a history together. although their relationship appears friendly, seiran seems uncomfortable with his presence. it is likely that they met during seiran's time in brown province. as a temporary measure, seiran assigned the little whirlwind to protect shuurei while he was away fighting bandits and also made him the acting administrator for the department of treasury and taxation under kijin's orders. however, it turns out that he has been defending against thieves from brown province every night. he bears a cross-shaped scar beneath his left eye.
