Zero's closest ally was Deed, who had been with him since the beginning of their mission. When Zero expressed uncertainty about the plan to send him away, Deed reassured him that the other Knights would continue fighting on and that Zero's own mission was just as crucial. However, Deeds true intentions were far more sinister than he let on. He had orchestrated the invasion of the Dark Axis as a way to win over the heart of the princess with whom he had fallen in love. After Zero left, Deed betrayed his comrades and joined forces with the Dark Axis under his alias of Deathscythe. His ultimate goal was to use the power of the Superior Dragon to become human and rule Lacroa as its king. In order to achieve this, he planned to obtain the power of the Dark Axis. As Deathscythe, Deed concealed his identity by transforming into a green blob with cloaking magic. However, when his plans neared completion, he de-cloaked and revealed his terrifying form to his enemies.
