Shiro is a young soldier who has been appointed to lead the 08th MS team. He believes strongly in his abilities and seeks revenge against the Zeon Forces for destroying Side 2, his home colony. However, as he gains experience with Earth-based combat, he comes to realize that it differs significantly from Space combat. This realization causes him to lose the trust of his teammates. Additionally, Shiro falls in love with Aina Sahalin, a Zeon pilot, which further complicates matters.
