Schierke is a young witch-in-training who was trained by Flora. She has an elf companion named Evarella and helped Gutss group fight trolls in Enoch village using magic. After facing an attack from Griffith, she had to leave her home and Flora forever. Despite living a sheltered life, Schierke finds the human world bearable due to her companions. She has impressive magical skills for her age and can hypnotize or temporarily desensitize others with one of her most useful spells. However, her youth sometimes leads to dangerous overzealousness. Schierke can sense "Od" (life force or spirit energy) which allows her to detect the power, intent, and alignment of all creatures and artifacts. She sees Isidro as an incompetent monkey, leading to some friction between them. Initially, she couldn't stand Guts, but they now share a father-daughter relationship. Schierke declined Sonia's offer to join the Band of the Hawk before considering Gutss group again. Their journey together has deepened their understanding.
