Kula Diamond first appeared as a sub-boss in The King of Fighters 2000, later becoming a regular participant in other appearances. Her original hair color was chestnut brown but changed to light blue when activating her ice powers. She was designed as an antagonistic foil to K and was created by NESTS to exterminate the cartel's traitor, K. Despite being a mindless puppet with no emotions, NESTS also made an android called Candy Diamond to monitor Kula's behavior and ensure she accomplished her missions. When Kula destroyed the main Zero Cannon, Candy shielded her descent from space, sacrificing herself as her body was badly burned from Earth's atmosphere. Diana, a former top executive of NESTS, acted as Kula's guardian in the series. Although often ordered to exterminate other traitors to NESTS, she has been known to disobey for the sake of others. After NESTS' destruction, Kula allied with her target, K and his companions. Her seiyu is Yumi Kakazu, and her voice actress in English-language adaptations is Kat Cassteneda.
