David Pepper is Chrono Number IX in the manga, but his appearance varies significantly. His weapons are gambling cards that he uses during battle on Clarken Island against Maro. Despite a fierce fight, both characters suffer serious injuries, with David ultimately succumbing to his wounds. Jenos then buries him after No. I and II face off against the Zero Numbers.
