Robert E. O. Speedwagon, commonly known as REO Speedwagon, is a character in the Joestar series by Hirohiko Moriheta. He initially appears as an Ogre Street thug boss who attacks Jonathan but later recognizes his worth and becomes his friend. He helps uncover Dio's plot to poison George Joestar and remains with Jonathan throughout their battles against Dio. By the 1930s, he is the head of the Speedwagon Foundation, a large oil company that assists the Joestar family in various ways. REO Speedwagon dies at age 89 from a heart attack in 1952. The name "REO Speedwagon" also refers to an American rock band active during the 70s and 80s. In the 2007 animated movie version of the Phantom Blood story arc, Speedwagon is absent.
