In the series, one of its primary characters is an original member of the party who became the Priest. He is not only skilled in combat but also has the title of "defensive tank," as described by Haruhiro. As a result of his leadership abilities, he is often considered the group's leader.

Spoilers:

He dies early in the story due to an ambush set by a group of goblins. As the party tries to flee, he gets shot in the back by an arrow. He ignores the pain as he doesnt want to burden his teammates, which causes him to lose too much blood, ending up killing him. He is later replaced by Merry as the new Priest.
