Andrei Smirnov

Sergei Smirnov's son, Andrei, holds a rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the military. He harbors intense animosity towards his father due to an incident where he had to make a difficult decision between saving his wife or his men. During his time with the A-Laws, he is assigned to work alongside Louise Havley. Andrei seems to have developed feelings for Louise as he empathizes with her hatred of the Gundams and expresses concern about her frequent spasms and fixation on revenge.
During Celestial Beings final battle with the A-Laws, Soma Peries makes him come to terms with his feelings toward his father and helps him understand his fathers motivations, as well as the reasons why his mother had to die.
During the battle of the orbital elevator, Andrei becomes convinced that his father betrayed the federation after he sees Sergei and the rebel federation forces leader working together to stop the orbital elevator from falling. In a fit of rage he kills his father when Sergei attempts to tell him about how the A-Laws were the ones who caused the orbital elevator to fall.
