Leonof the Puppeteer is an elderly man who operates a large number of puppets using intricate string systems. These puppets can mimic real people, and Leonof uses them to perform cruel acts on those close to Vash. His true name is Emilio, someone he knew during his childhood. After losing his love interest, he turns to puppet-making as a way to heal his emotional wounds.
