The story revolves around daisuke umon, the crown prince of planet fleed who survived a devastating attack by king vega's forces that destroyed his home planet. he now resides on earth and has vowed to protect it while seeking revenge against those responsible for his planet's destruction. to aid him in this mission, he commands grendizer, the super robot from the 74 episodes of ufo robot grendizer series. kouji kabuto, a former mazinger z pilot, serves as daisuke's sidekick and friend. despite his secret identity as an alien, only a few individuals know about it: professor umon, head of the space science lab; kouji kabuto; danbei makiba's daughter hikaru and her brother goro.
