Menma is an individual who unexpectedly reappears several years following her demise and requests that Jinta gather their former companions in order for her wish to be fulfilled. Although she appears to have forgotten what her specific desire entails, she understands that reuniting with her friends is essential in order to recall it. Despite being deceased, Menma exudes a positive, lively demeanor and possesses an altruistic nature, frequently weeping for others when they experience pain or distress but not for herself. Jinta refers to her as the "summer beast" due to his association of her with his stress rather than viewing her as a ghostly figure.
