Beato, also known as the Golden Witch and Endless Witch, is a major character in Legend of the Golden Witch who serves as the primary antagonist. She first appears at the Tea Party where she confronts Battler about his denial that his loved ones were killed by magic. This leads to a game in which Battler must prove otherwise from Turn of the Golden Witch onwards. Beato is an ancient witch, over 1000 years old, and can manifest as a cloud of golden butterflies. She possesses immense power, able to summon demons from the seventy-two pillars to serve her. While humans can seek her help in having their wishes granted in exchange for compensation, she often behaves capriciously. It is rumored that Kinzou had ten tons of gold given to him by Beato and served under her as his alchemic advisor.
