Jigorou, grandfather of Yawara, is an accomplished 7th-dan Judo Master and five-time National Champion. While his love for judo rivals only his passion for Yawara and food, he holds great expectations for her future success in the sport. He frequently encourages her to focus solely on improving her skills and achieving her full potential. Jigorou's motto is "Judo was not built in a day," reflecting his dedication to mastery and excellence. In addition to his work as a judo coach, he also has a side business as a bone-setting doctor.
