In one episode of Dr. Kenzo Tenma and Dieter's journey, they encountered an old English couple named Leia and Mr Jones who were on vacation in Germany following Mr. Jones' retirement from his previous job as a policeman. Although Mr. Jones was hesitant to stop and give them a ride, Leia convinced him to do so. However, when their car ran out of fuel, Tenma left with Dieter to fetch help while the couple remained behind. To their surprise, Tenma and Dieter returned several hours later with borrowed jerry cans. The group then dined at a restaurant where Tenma recommended trying an ungeheuer wine. Despite Mr. Jones' initial suspicion of Tenma due to his ex-policeman intuitions, it was revealed that he had reason to doubt them when the group made a detour to visit Steinbach Castle and learned that their son Robert had murdered someone there. After parting ways with Tenma and Dieter, the couple headed to Stadelheim Prison in Munich where Robert was imprisoned. Before entering, Mr. Jones confessed to Leia that he knew Tenma was a fugitive but believed him to be innocent, as he wanted to believe about Robert.
