Tomo is an outgoing and assertive individual who is passionate about tennis. She leads the Echizen Ryoma fan club as its president. Despite her desire to join the Seigaku female tennis club, she has responsibilities towards her younger brothers that prevent her from attending all events. Tomo and Sakuno are classmates, and when she first meets Sakuno, she is curious about why she joined the Girls' Tennis Club. Her curiosity is piqued when she sees Ryoma playing a match against Momoshiro Takeshi. This leads her to realize the reason behind Sakuno's decision to join the club. Tomo cheers on Ryoma and others during tournaments, even creating costumes for herself and Sakuno to wear during their match with Joushen Shonan and Rokkaku Middle School.
