In anime form, Princess of Wu is the second sister of the Son Family, and Shōren's older sister. Unlike her older sister, she is less ruthless, self-conscious, and more compassionate. She worries about how her sisters' wars are affecting everyone around them, unaware that her sister is doing it for their sake. Her sister has chosen her to be her successor because she believes she will make a better ruler who can heal the wounds inflicted by the nation's conflicts. In visual novel form, Princess of Wu leads the Wu faction and struggles with insecurity as a leader. She lacks fighting skills and fails to land any hits on Kanu during their battle. After her defeat, she develops feelings for Kazuto due to his acceptance of her as a woman rather than a king. In Shin Koihime Musō's remake, Princess of Wu is replaced by Sonsaku as the leader of the Wu faction. Her hair has also been lengthened. However, if Kazuto joins the Wu faction, Sonsaku is killed early in the campaign, and Sonken takes over with a heavy heart, cutting her hair upon doing so.
