In the second chapter of the story, Kei serves as the main heroine. She is Hiros childhood friend and is one year younger than him; they both attend the same school. Additionally, Kei lives next door to Hiro and often has to wake him up when he stays up late drawing his manga. Kei is an athlete and excels in basketball, leading her team at school. She harbors feelings for Hiro, but becomes envious of the time he spends with Miyako Miyamura.
