In the story, rin serves as the main protagonist. she's kyousuke natsume's younger sister and the only female member among the original five members of little busters. despite having difficulty communicating effectively, she is introverted and tends to spend time alone. however, when playing baseball with her teammates, rin excels as a pitcher. initially, her pitches were unpredictable, but after engaging in a heated stand-off with sasami, she demonstrated two powerful pitches - one was a fastball while the other was an altered version of a changeup.
rin is known for being fond of cats and takes care of several stray felines at school. it's not unusual to see multiple cats curled up on her during class.
She is sent to another school as an exchange student, which instead of making her stronger, breaks her apart. People who played the Refrain route notice that Rins personality completely broke apart, and she has the mentality of a little kid. Eventually, she and Riki reform the Little Busters, and Kyousuke reveals the secret of the world that he is hiding to them. After the fake world disappears, Rin and Riki save the people in the bus crash.
