Sophie saved him from being lost in the desert and now follows her around. In reality, Justin, who had disappeared after searching for Wizard Suliman, was actually the prince's brother. The witch of the waste kidnapped him and combined some of his body parts with those of Suliman to create a perfect man that she could make the new king. The scarecrow, without a name, was summoned by Suliman to inform someone about their location.
