In the anime, Chinami serves as vice president of the student council, which means she is technically beneath Yuriko in rank. However, she behaves as if she were superior to Yuriko, issuing orders and formulating plans on her own. Despite this, in the manga, Chinami holds a different position - that of secretary of the student council. It's likely that Chinami is half-alien, as she possesses cat ears identical to Yurikos (although hers do not appear as frequently). Initially, Chinami feels envious of Yurikos carefree personality and her constant attention from others. After being crowned Queen of the Beach, however, she realizes that she prefers playing a supporting role rather than being in the spotlight. Following their branding and imprisonment as traitors alongside Yuriko, Chinami rebels against the alien forces. Three years later, she can be seen working with Yuriko at their jointly owned hot springs. Unlike Yuriko, Chinami keeps her cat ears concealed.
