Gadved  

Van and Helena had been close friends with Gadved, who worked alongside them in researching the Original Seven armors. On their wedding day, while critically injured by the Claw Man, Helena asked Gadved to permanently make Van a member of the Original Seven by making him Danns pilot armor. In the series, Van is shocked to learn that Gadved has joined the ranks of the Claw Mans followers. He was a veteran armor pilot and the last surviving member of his generation's Original Seven pilots. With a simple snap of his finger, he could summon his armor.
