Dragonball Yamcha was initially an adversary to Goku but later became friends due to Bulma's influence. He spent most of his time living in the desert, which limited his interactions with women. Whenever he encountered Bulma, he would become extremely nervous and frozen. Yamcha's signature move is known as Fist of the Wolf Fang, where he strikes opponents using a claw-like pose involving his middle finger, ring finger, and thumb. His closest companion is Puar, a floating shift-shaping cat. In Dragonball Z, Yamcha transformed into a respectable member of the Z-fighters and a student under Master Roshi. He developed exceptional ki control with his new move, Spirit Ball, which allows him to guide a ki ball in any direction using his middle and index fingers.
When the Saiyans, Vegeta and his henchman Nappa, first came to earth. Yamcha was the first to die after Nappa planted the Saibaman. In the Android Saga, Yamcha was the first to discover Androids 19 and 20 and was the second to be harmed by them (after Yajirobe).
