Ishii is a short-tempered person who gets easily provoked by opposing teams to commit fouls. He has four fouls at crucial times in matches. However, as his team advances towards the final, he has become more mature and his skills have grown steadier and stronger. Ishii plays power forward on the team. It seems that he is close friends with Dobashi, whom they played together during middle school. Ishii attended Takakura Junior High.
