Basil, a disciple of Iemitsu, possesses a blue rain attribute flame and can enter Hyper Dying Will Mode with special pills made by Iemitsu. Due to his strict training since childhood, he is an accomplished fighter. Unbeknownst to him, he was sent to deliver fake Vongola Rings to Tsuna as part of Iemitsu's plan to safely deliver the real halves to Japan. During this mission, Basil encounters Superbia Squalo and is subsequently defeated. Despite being used as a decoy, he remains extremely loyal to Iemitsu and helps train Tsuna in controlling the Dying Will Flame. Later, the CEDEF sends him into the future as support for the Vongola, and his box weapon releases a dolphin that he can telepathically communicate with. Basil often speaks in an archaic manner, replacing "I," "me," and "my" with "thou," "thee," and "thy." He refers to Tsuna and guardians with the suffix "-dono." This habit sometimes interferes with modern speech.
