Neneko, Takeyas childhood friend and landlord's daughter, has been his best friend since childhood despite constant bickering between them. Despite her alarms, Neneko often serves as the balance and common sense of the duo. She helps him out of tough times so frequently that one wonders how he would manage without her. At the end of the manga, she reveals that she will be going to America to study fashion design. Near the end of the book, Neneko admits having unrequited love for Takeya but had to let him go due to their inability to become married when they were in class discussing their goals in life.
