Stephen Gevanni, ステファン・ラウド

Stephen is a member of Near's investigation team at Near as part of his role to stop Kira. He later plays an important part in stopping her. When suspicions arise about Mikami, Near assigns Gevanni to follow him and study his lifestyle, which leads to the discovery of his connections to the Death Note. Before the final showdown with Light, Near has Gevanni steal both fake and real Death Notes from Mikami and tamper with one of the fakes pages. He also creates another fake that is used as Lights ultimate downfall and becomes Nears key to proving Lights identity as Kira. While searching for SPK members' real names, Mikami views his own name as Stephen Loud through Shinigami Eyes. In a one-shot chapter set three years after Light's death, although he had no speaking lines and little involvement in the story, he appeared alongside Rester and Lidner, suggesting that he may still be working with them under Near.
