A friendly samurai who prefers eating over fighting. During World War II, he evaded combat by working as an engineer in charge of weapons construction. Since then, he has taken up wood chopping in exchange for food or interesting gadgets. He is highly skilled at fixing and building medieval-style weapons to fight against the giant mechanical Nobuseri. He adores rice more than anyone else and can identify its origin based solely on taste. He despises traitors and remains unyielding due to his past betrayal, which resulted in the death of his entire platoon. However, through Kambeis influence, he learns to become more compassionate and understanding. The sword he carries has a rain charm attached to its end.
