Jet Black's former partner, Fad, is mentioned in session 17 of the series "Black Dog Serenade." During their time together as ISSP agents, Jet and Fad pursued Udai Taxim when he was part of the Europa gang. While giving chase, they split up with Jet tailing almost directly behind Udai. However, a flashlight is turned on and shone directly on Jet just as it seems that Udai is cornered. A gunshot is heard, and Jet loses his arm. It's later revealed in the episode that Fad was the one who shot him, not Udai, as previously believed. This was because Fad was on Europas payroll and would receive a large amount of money if one of their key members was caught. Additionally, he couldn't risk losing his job by allowing Jet to be captured. In "Black Dog Serenade," Jet teams up with Fad again to stop a group of criminals who have hijacked a police transport ship. As they work together inside the ship, Fad knows that Jet likes to do things alone and splits off from him. Eventually, Udai is subdued by all the other criminals except for himself and Jet. They fight, with Udai revealing Fads role in Jets arm loss.
