Since Akiha was the only Shishido sister who took time to care for Imoko when she first arrived at their household, they became close friends and eventually adopted Imoko as the sixth Shishido sister. As a Naviman nicknamed "Potato" due to her appearance, Imoko has the ability to interface with and operate most electronic devices, which delights Akiha. Furthermore, Imokos self-sacrifice to save Kirkwood from an anti-matter missile inspires Nerval to change his perspective on recruiting people for his Utopian plans. Although she lives at the Orbital Cafe Enigma with Nervals intervention, Imokos inability to return to Akiha after gaining insight into Nervals human understanding prevents her from returning and contributes to Akihas growth as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Space".
