Yuji's mother is gentle in appearance but possesses strength and great intelligence. Her husband, Kantarou, works outside their country. Although Chigusa remains unaware of Shana and Yuji's true nature, she provides valuable guidance to the latter on matters where Alastor cannot offer counsel. Even the Crimson Lord recognizes and pays homage to her wisdom following a phone call during which he posed as Shana's guardian.
