The anime version portrays Wus strategist as a trusted advisor and lover to Queen Sonsaku. She supports her ambition and remains loyal until their mission is accomplished. On the other hand, the visual novel version depicts Shūyu as the Go Faction's strategist who deeply cares for Sonsaku. Her devotion goes so far that she would sacrifice everything else for his dream. In the sequel Shin Koihime Musō, if Kazuto joins Wu faction, Shūyu meets a tragic end in battle after Gi is defeated.
