Sha Jien, 独角兕

Dokugakuji is a fictional character from the manga and anime series Saiyuki. In both the original series and its sequels, he serves as Kougaiji's bodyguard and is Sha Gojyo's older half-brother. Unlike his brother, who was born to their father's human mistress, Dokugakuji is a full youkai, the son of their father's legal wife. In the manga, he first meets Sha Jien in book three and later kills their mother when she attempts to murder Gojyo. Now, he serves as a loyal servant to Kougaiji, who is the prince of the youkai race and the son of the Ox-Demon Gyumaoh. Dokugakuji stumbled into Houtou castle six years before the beginning of the manga and was hired without question by the trusting prince. His weapon of choice is a sword that he summons in the same way as Goku does his nyoi-bo or Gojyo with his shakujou. Dokugakuji often fights against Gojyo when their groups meet.
