Nakama was a young girl who placed great importance on living an honest life and contributing positively to her community in order to be viewed as trustworthy and reliable by others. Despite this, her mother's profession as a prostitute and her own serious and overly responsible demeanor made it difficult for her to form close relationships with others. From a young age, Nakama experienced bullying and hatred from her peers, which left her feeling powerless and unable to express any anger or resentment towards them. Despite this, she continued to admire her mother and aspired to embody the same strength and pride that she possessed. In an effort to make friends, Nakama's mother suggested that she attend a nature school, where she hoped she would be able to connect with others on a deeper level.
