General Revil was a prominent commander in Earth's Space Force during the One Year War, but he did not make any personal appearances until later on in the series. He was known for his bravery and popularity among his troops, as well as his interest in their well-being. In addition to being a patron of the White Base crew, Revil also displayed Newtype abilities, making him one of the oldest individuals considered to have this ability. Despite being an Earth Federation commander, Revil was sympathetic towards the protagonists and is often regarded positively by them. Some media suggests that had he survived the One Year War, many conflicts following it (such as Operation Stardust in Gundam 0083 and the Gryps Conflict in Zeta Gundam) could have been avoided.
