Miles Prower is an anthropomorphic fox character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. His name is a play on "miles per hour," referencing the speed of the famous hedgehog. He has two tails, similar to the mythological kitsune or yoko, and can use them as propellers for short periods of time. Tails made his debut in October 16th, 1992, appearing in the 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with a 16-bit version released later that month. Tails is 8 years old and stands at 2 feet tall, weighing around 44 pounds. He looks up to Sonic as an older brother and wants to be like him, though he lacks confidence in his abilities and experience. However, Tails approaches problems logically and often uses his knowledge of machines to help turn the tide in battles.
