Chourou is an elderly man who possesses an unusually large amount of chest hair, which he believes symbolizes his strength and masculinity. However, this characteristic becomes problematic when it attracts the attention of Adult Guu, who steals it as part of a plot device. As a result, Chourou has become distant from others and refers to Adult Guu as "Lord Guu."
As the village elder, he leads hunts for recurring jungle creatures known as pokutes and has numerous recipes that incorporate them into his culinary creations. One day, while wandering through the forest, Chourou encounters a cat that closely resembles him. Despite Hare's disapproval, he decides to give it away to her.
Due to an overgrowth of chest hair, Chourou disappears from sight for a brief period. Eventually, his once-human form is reduced to nothing more than a furball with a head.
