Amus mother is Midori Hinamori, who works as an editor for Housewives Knowledge magazine. She chooses the clothing styles of both Amu and Ami. Unlike her husband, she has a more understanding relationship with Amu's romantic interests. In chapter 31, when Amu was discovered with Ikuto in their home, Midori believed in her and sought to find a place for him. In chapter 33, Amu called her mother, and Midori mysteriously conveyed that everyone had faith in her.
