Kotarou

Kotaro is a young orphan who runs away from a monastery after being told to do so by Father Shouan in the opening scene. He faces pursuit from assassins sent by the Ming dynasty and soldiers of Akaike, despite not knowing why he's being targeted. When he meets Nanashi, Kotaro seeks protection from him. His only travel companion until then is his dog, Tobimaru.
