Fon Master Ion, イオン

The Fon Master Ion leads the neutral theocracy known as the Order of Lorelei during a time of conflict between the Malkuth and Kimlasca kingdoms in Tales of the Abyss. He possesses the unique ability to read the Closed Score, which allows him to unlock Yulias seals. It is unclear whether this power was inherited or gained through his title as Fon Master. Ion remains calm in most situations and can utilize Daathic Fonic Artes, although this may be exhausting. He first joins the party at Cheagle Woods and later on a few occasions throughout the game. Despite being weak physically and often featured in skits, Ion does not engage in combat due to his condition. When Tear and Luke encounter him, he nearly faints from using his powers. Ion is an optimistic and soft-spoken individual who has a knack for picking up on the best aspects of people's personalities, even when their negative qualities are overwhelming. Despite being docile and physically weak, Ion proves himself to be a strong leader with great maturity. He opposes the strictly traditional Grand Maestro Mohs, the second-in-command of the Order, by creating his own faction. Ion is concerned about the state of the world and its fixation on fulfilling the Score. Unlike most members of the Order, he believes that there are multiple possibilities beyond the Score.
