Taichi comes from a wealthy family, with both his father and grandfather being doctors. His childhood friend is known as the "golden boy" due to his intelligence, good looks, and maturity. He excels in almost everything he does and serves as the voice of reason in the Misusawa Karuta Club. Despite seeing himself as a protector of Chihaya and other less experienced members, Taichi demands a lot from himself in terms of games and leadership. However, his overthinking can sometimes cloud even simple situations. Taichi's karuta skills are enhanced by his incredible memory, allowing him to predict which cards may be called next and outsmart opponents. He also harbors a crush on Chihaya but is hesitant to act on it due to his belief that she only sees Arata in that way.
