To begin with, Ichigo Kurosaki's initial encounter with a Hollow occurred when he fought Fishbone D. This Hollow targeted Ichigo's family in pursuit of him and compelled Ichigo to accept Rukia Kuchikis proposal for becoming a temporary Soul Reaper. As a result of this arrangement, Ichigo gained access to all of Rukias powers and eventually managed to defeat Fishbone D. Thus, from a technical standpoint, Fishbone D can be considered the first Hollow to initiate Ichigos journey as a Soul Reaper.
