Yuri Mihalkov is part of the Russian team on Planetes called Debris. He's known to be composed, collected, caring, and empathetic. As a group leader, he often maintains balance during tense situations. Some believe that his name may be inspired by Yuri Gagarin and Nikita Mihalkov. In the anime, Yuri oversees the care of the animals living on ISPV 7 along with other Debris Section Office staff members.
