In Ef The Latter Tale's third chapter, Renji Asou is a character who has both German and Japanese heritage. At an abandoned train station where he frequently visits, he encounters Chihiro Shindo, the younger sister of Kei Shindo, sitting alone with an eye patch on her left eye. Although they are initially shy around each other, Renji continues to visit the station after school and eventually becomes friends with Chihiro.
